LG to Release Shine 3G for Video Calls
LG Electronics' Shine phone
LG Electronics said Thursday that it is about to release overseas an upgraded version of its best-selling Shine phone with high speed downlink packet access (HSDPA) technology. LG plans to start selling the Shine 3G phone (LG-KU970) in Singapore and Australia early this month, followed by a release in other Asia markets and Europe.

The Shine 3G with its HSDPA wireless data technology is wrapped in an elegant metallic case. With a data transfer rate of 3.5 megabytes per second (Mbps), the phone can download a 40MB music video in one and a half minutes or a 3MB MP3 file in seven seconds. The new Shine also comes with a 2 megapixel camera, a VGA camera for video calls, Bluetooth 2.0 technology, and an MP3 player. LG expects the Shine 3G to be at forefront of the growing global 3G phone market.
