LG Introduces XCanvas 'Quidam' TV

LG Electronics announced on Sunday that it has released a new high-end LCD TV called the XCanvas Quidam. The name Quidam comes from the title of a show by the Canadian performance group Cirque du Soleil, which is renowned for its creativity and artistry. LG chose the name to represent the television's blend of technology and art.

The Quidam TV, which is available in six different models, is stylishly designed with a ring-shaped stand and hidden speakers. It also has a feature that automatically adjusts the picture brightness according to the amount of light in the surrounding area.

It comes it two sizes -- 32 inches which costs W1.5 million (US$1=W929), or 42 inches for W3.1 million. Park Seok-won, LG Electronics' vice president, said the new television should prove to be a leading product in the global TV market.
