Korea's RFID Technology Adopted as World Standard
The Commerce, Industry and Energy Ministry said on Monday Korea's mobile radio frequency ID technology has been adopted as a world standard by the Geneva-based International Organization for Standardization.

The technology known as Object Identifier or OID allows cell phones to read RFID tags. Through OID cell phone, users can read product data on RFID tags.

Korea's cellular carriers are now testing the service on a handful of products and services such as wine and taxicabs.
