To develop the textbook and video material, 43 students and staff of Yaumati Catholic Primary School have been in Korea since last Tuesday. Students and officials will make the textbook with materials in Korea, the home of the drama, the Chinese press said. To help them, two professors from the Chinese University of Hong Kong and professional programmers and IT experts joined them. Yaumati Catholic Primary School was the first in Hong Kong to use the soap as teaching material.
"Daejanggeum" was so popular that it drew audiences of 2 million, one-third of Hong Kong's total population, when it aired there in 2005. The Chinese praised the spirit of the irrepressible heroine. A teacher at Yaumati School who is in charge of making the textbook said, "I hope students can learn how to study and train their minds with strenuous efforts" with the help of the drama.
