Samsung Electronics' color jacket phone looks like it will be another hit in the domestic cellphone market. The company said it has already sold 100,000 units just one month after it was released in late February.
Users of the Anycall series of color jacket phones can, as the name suggests, change the phone¡¯s exterior to any of seven colors to match their mood or outfit.
Bolstered by the popularity of the color jacket phone, Samsung Electronics¡¯ cellphone sales in March topped one million for the first time.
The TV commercial for the phone is also hot. In the commercial, superstar Jeon Ji-hyun competes in a stripping contest with a male model, taking off her clothes to reveal another layer of clothing underneath, highlighting the feature of the phone.
A Samsung spokesman said that the popularity of the phone is attributable to its color-switching feature that satisfies customers who regard cellphones as a fashion item.
