The city of Seoul will soon unveil "Seoul Fashion Week," an extended version of its annual fashion show - the Seoul Collection. As a complement to this, the city will build "Design World Plaza" at Dongdaemun Stadium by 2010.
The decisions reflect the government's plans to develop the Korean capital into one of the top five fashion cities in the world. The six-story design plaza will include an exhibition hall, a museum, and a showroom.
Fashion Week, set to take place each October, will also feature a series of international conferences. In related plans, the city will create a design database and award scholarships to students from world-renowned design schools.
