U.S. Hints at Feb. 8 for Nuke Talks
The U.S. has all but confirmed that the next round of the six-party North Korea nuclear talks will open around Feb. 8. U.S. State Department spokesman Sean McCormack told reporters Monday that lead U.S. negotiator Christopher Hill had bought a plane ticket to China ¡°for on or about Feb. 8.¡± He declined to confirm the exact timetable of the talks because China has yet to officially announce the date. China will host the six-party talks bringing together the two Koreas, the U.S., Japan, and Russia. He said that Washington was awaiting China¡¯s announcement of a date and that envoy Hill was ¡°counting on going¡± to Beijing.
