LG Electronics will unveil its Shine mobile phone overseas at the 2007 International Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vega from Feb. 8, it said Sunday. The company will set up a separate booth named the ¡°Shine Zone¡± to highlight the new GSM model to U.S. telecom providers and consumers. To stress the sleek and shiny image of the phone, LG Electronics will decorate the walls of the booth with stainless steel. The GSM Shine phone is cased in stainless steel like the Korean CDMA version. It has a Bluetooth function, extended memory card, 2 megapixel camera with a Schneider Kreuzach lens, a mirrored LCD display and a scroll key pad. The GSM Shine phone will be exported to Europe, Asia and North America starting in the first quarter of the year.
Ahn Seung-kwon, the head of LG Electronics¡¯ mobile communication division, said the Shine phone drew attention from global consumers even before introduction with its innovative technological functions and appealing design. He pledged to make the new model another global hit following the company¡¯s Chocolate phone through localization strategies and marketing activities.
