A motel guest who took out his day-to-day frustrations by firing a hunting gun through a window has been taken into custody. The Namdaemun police station in Seoul arrested the restaurant worker known as Eo on charges of discharging a firearm towards a parked car and flower garden on Thursday.

At around 10:30 a.m. Eo allegedly opened a window on the second floor of a motel located in Heohyun-dong, Seoul, and fired four shots at a parked car owned by a person known as Kim, and then four more at a flower garden.

After quitting college, Eo drifted between casual laboring jobs and restaurant work. He said, “Life is so difficult that I wanted to kill myself, but I didn’t have enough courage, so I fired the shots, though I never had any intention to shoot at people.” Eo committed the crime after drinking a bottle of beer, but he does not have any pervious criminal record or history of mental problems.
