A brace of pornographic video clips made their way past sloppy safeguards on the one of Korea's biggest portal sites Daum on Sunday afternoon. At around 3:50 p.m. the clips were listed on the "real-time popular video clipsˇ± page, possibly because a mischievous user took advantage of the fact that it is impossible to monitor the tens of thousands of clips posted every day. The incident was possible because in real-time popular lists, items march automatically up the list based on the number of clicks and recommendations. No validation procedure is used on the video clip service on the portal, so minors have unrestricted access.
Some users say it is time to change that. ˇ°Because it was the weekend, I was watching video clips for fun with my family -- I was absolutely shocked to see the porn clips,ˇ± one lamented. ˇ°I never thought such a thing would happen. A lot of children may have watched it; it must never happen again.ˇ±
