Roh Returns from Vietnam, Cambodia Visits
President Roh Moo-hyun has returned from a six-day visit to Vietnam and Cambodia. In Hanoi, President Roh attended the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation summit, where leaders from the 21 APEC economies issued a statement calling for the early resumption of the talks on North Korea's nuclear program.

The president also met separately with leaders from the United States, Japan, China, and Russia, where they agreed to coordinate their positions to present a unified stance when the six-party talks resume sometime next month.

Also on this overseas trip, President Roh became the first South Korean president to pay a state visit to Cambodia. In talks with Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen, he pledged participation and assistance in the Southeast Asian country's projects to modernize its infrastructure and to boost people-to-people exchanges.
