LG Electronics celebrates the 6 million-unit-selling Chocolate phone

The Chocolate phone from LG Electronics celebrates its first anniversary this month, the firm announced Thursday, marking sales of some 6 million units worldwide. LG Electronics estimates released Thursday put sales at 3 million at the end of August, plus an additional 3 million in the following two-and-a-half months. LG Electronics predicts sales could reach 10 million in the first half of next year.
In Europe, North and South America, China, Asia and Africa the phone is growing steadily in popularity in a total of 70 countries and now easily shifts over 1 million units a month, the company says. Sales helped the company find its way back into the black in the third quarter, accounting for 18 percent of the total sales of 16.54 million phones after LGĄ¯s mobile phone unit recorded a loss of W30.9 billon in the first quarter and W3 billion in the second.
