The teenage marketing phenomenon Michelle Wie finished last again at the 84 Lumber Classic at the Mystic Rock golf course at the Nemacolin Woodlands Resort & Spa in Pennsylvania, U.S. on Friday. The Korean American finished 134th at 14-over-par 158 in the second round.

Wie has now brought up the rear twice in two weeks, the last time at the Omega European Masters at Crans-Sur-Sierre in Switzerland. But the golfer seems surprisingly unfazed. "Nothing has changed," she said. ¡°Obviously, everyone knows my ultimate goal is to play in the Masters, but right now I'm really enjoying competing with the guys." Wie insisted she is ¡°getting better and better even though my scores don't show it. My game is progressing.¡±

The Associated Press quoted fellow golfer Scott Verplank as saying, "If I was her advisor, I would tell her to go kick all the ladies' tails around for about four years, and if she wants to try again when she's 20, 21 and grown up more, and maybe a better player, come on back." Next on the agenda for Wie is the LPGA's Samsung World Championship next month, and the Casio World Open men¡¯s event in Japan in November.
