Police are appealing for a French businessman identified as the father of dead twins found in the freezer of his house here to return to Korea. Investigators will seek the cooperation of the French Embassy here and the Korean Embassy in France, police said Monday. Identified only as C, the man says he found the bodies of the two newborns in the freezer of his villa in the predominantly French Seorae Village in southern Seoul when he briefly returned from vacation. He reported the discovery to police before leaving to complete his holiday.
DNA tests confirmed C was the father of the freezer babies, police said, while DNA of the unidentified mother was taken from the umbilical cord and sent to the National Institute of Scientific Investigation together with several other pieces of evidence retrieved from the house.
The Frenchman is an executive with a foreign auto parts maker and has lived in the 260 sq.m villa with his wife and two children since August last year. He was scheduled to return to Korea from his vacation in France on Aug. 28.
