LG Electronics unveiled 37-inch and 42-inch full HD liquid crystal display TVs Wednesday, in addition to already introduced larger 47- and 55-inch models. The two-megapixel full HD panels offer images two times as clear as traditional HD TV sets and six times greater than standard definition TVs.
The full HD TV market is expected to see major growth, as the next generation of audio and video equipment as well as game consoles will support two-megapixel images.

The newly released models are equipped with a 250 GB hard disk that automatically records for two hours from the moment the TV is turned on as part of its instant playback, also known as "time machine" capability and can store up to 92 hours of programming.
The panels can display 5.4 trillion colors and therefore offer image quality that more accurately replicates natural colors than previous models. LG Electronics expects full HD TVs to gain popularity due to their superb image quality, although they are about ten percent more expensive than regular HD sets.
Yoon Sang-han, LG executive vice-president in charge of the TV, monitor, and plasma panel module businesses, said that LG Electronics will lead the flat TV market with the synergy of its "time machine" and full HD TV models.
