Police investigating the death of two infants found in the freezer of a villa in a French neighborhood in Seoul say neighbors reported seeing a Caucasian girl of around 14 in front of the house on July 13. The private security firm that watched over the house in the owner¡¯s absence last week saw only a friend of the owner¡¯s identified as P (47), who was to keep an eye on the house, go in four times during the owner's absence. P and the young girl are the focus of police attention at the moment.
But P left the country last Friday for a vacation in France, and police are investigating whether P¡¯s employer knew of his vacation plans and are seeking phone records of P and the owner ¡°as well as other concerned individuals." The owner, identified as C, discovered the two frozen-solid bodies on Sunday when he deposited a delivery of mackerel in the outdoor freezer.
A police investigator said, "We discovered traces of blood in the bathroom, veranda, and living room, and when the fact that a towel similar to the one that was wrapped around one of the infants was found at the house, as were plastic bags like the ones that the children were wrapped in, the chances that the babies were born somewhere else and brought to the house seems extremely low."
Police said an initial postmortem concluded the two babies were either Caucasian or of mixed race and died after a normal birth. They were male and weighed 3.24 kg and 3.63 kg. Police are trying to determine if there was a student at the nearby French school in the Seorae Village who was pregnant.
