Employment Growth Slows for Second Month in June
|
|
The rate of employment growth in Korea slowed for a second straight month in June. The National Statistical Office reports 255,000 new jobs were created in June compared to the same month last year. That is the smallest monthly increase so far this year. Also, the average monthly gain during the first half stood at 307,000 falling short of the government target of 320,000. Finance officials blame the disappointing results on a slowdown in the construction sector and expect conditions to improve in the second half.
