Incheon City on Tuesday signed a basic agreement with the Portman consortium to build 151-story twin towers in Songdo International City in the Incheon Free Economic Zone. The building tentatively named Incheon Tower is set to be the world¡¯s second tallest building behind the 160-story Burj Dubai that is under construction in the Gulf state.
The 610-m high buildings will be double the height of the 264 m, 69-story luxury apartment Tower Palace, Korea¡¯s tallest building to date, in Dogok-dong in Seoul. The towers will be connected by three sky bridges not unlike Kuala Lumpur¡¯s Petronas Towers and house a hotel, a convention center, offices and a shopping mall.
