25 Held Over Drug-Fueled Orgies

A man in his 40s with six prior drug-related convictions has been arrested together with 24 others for taking part in ¡°drug-fueled orgies.¡± Prosecutors say the man contacted women over the Internet and by other means and had sex with them after giving them the amphetamine-like stimulant Philopon, a common illegal drug in Korea and Japan. Investigators say his partners included teenage girls and pregnant women.

The Suwon District Prosecutors¡¯ Office on Tuesday arrested the 25 and booked three others. The man identified as Yoo (43) allegedly met 14 women between September 2005 and this April and engaged in what investigators described as "drug-fueled sex parties." Prosecutors said Yoo took the women to Seoul or Gwangmyung-area motel rooms. There they would take the drugs, watch ¡°foreign¡± pornographic films and engage in unusual sexual practices, prosecutors said.

Prosecutor Park Seong-jin said Yoo would introduce women he had slept with to other men he knew and encourage them to take part in orgies. The women included three teenagers, one of them pregnant, and a pregnant woman in her 20s. Some of the men were in their 40s with families and stable jobs like estate agents, prosecutors said.
