Fathoming the Michelle Wie Factor
American teenage golf sensation, Michelle Wie made the cut against male golfers in the Asian Tour's SK Telecom Open held in Incheon, west of Seoul. It was her eighth attempt at taking on the men. And for Michelle Wie, it was lucky number eight. She made the cut by five strokes, firing a 3-under 69, on Friday. And after two rounds, Wie was tied at 17th place at 5-under 139.

To make the cut, she had to come within the top 60 out of some 150 players. By succeeding, Wie has become the first woman to make the cut in a major men's international tour since 1945, all at the tender age of 16.

"It feels good. It feels really good to make the cut. I hope to play well tomorrow as well." Wie also said she was happy she made her first cut in Korea, her parents' homeland. She drew a gallery of thousands, the largest crowd ever for a golf tournament held in the country. At one point, police were dispatched to control traffic on a freeway passing through the golf course clogged by cars trying to catch a glimpse of Wie.

Now with her intial goal safely accomplished, her fans here are looking forward to see if she will be able to make it in the top ten.
