U.S. Officials Tour Kaesong Industrial Complex
U.S. officials on Monday took a look around the joint-Korean industrial complex in the North Korean border city of Kaesong. They were there at the invitation of Pyongyang.

Diplomatic sources said U.S. officials had asked to inspect the site. The tour was closed to the public.

A U.S. Embassy source confirmed that U.S. House of Representatives staff member Douglas Anderson visited the complex.

Pyongyang on March 16 invited Anderson and three embassy officials. North Korea said the invitation was open until the end of the month and promised to offer the officials every convenience during their stay and guarantee their safety.

On Friday, U.S. Ambassador to Korea Alexander Vershbow told Uri Party chairman Chung Dong-young mid-ranking embassy staff were likely to make a trip to Kaesong.
