NIS Acknowledges it Erred in Spying Allegations
The fact-finding committee of the National Intelligence Service will on Thursday announce the results of its investigation into the ˇ°Tongbaengnimˇ± spy ring case of 1967. It is being said that the committee has concluded that the case cannot be looked at as a spy case because some of the accused had in fact visited North Korea but did not engage in providing information to the North Koreans or spying activities.

The ˇ°Tongbaengnimˇ± incident refers actions by the then Central Intelligence Agency to accuse 194 scholars and literati, including famous composer Yun I-sang and painter Lee Ung-no, of engaging in pro-communist activities in Berlin.
