Hwang Woo-suk Apologizes Asking for Forgiveness
Disgraced cloning scientist Hwang Woo-suk held a media conference on Thursday morning to voice his reaction to Seoul National University's final investigative report on his stem cell research. Hwang began his announcement by apologizing for the social turmoil he and his research work had caused and asked for forgiveness. He said that he takes full responsibility for the fabricated data found in both 2004 and 2005 Science papers by the SNU investigation.

Though Hwang admitted his team had paid for the human ova used in his stem cell research he raised question of the possibility that Miz Medi, the clinic involved in Hwang's stem cell research might have cooked up the DNA test results of cloned stem cells extracted from human embryos. Meanwhile, an investigation is underway by the Seoul District Prosecutors' Office into alleged swapping of cloned stem cells and ill-use of research fund.
