New Blue Black Phone Ready for Release in Korea
Samsung Electronics said Tuesday it will add a digital multimedia broadcasting (DMB) function to its bestselling Blue Black Phone II when it is released in Korea. Some 2 million of the phones have sold worldwide in only two months since the launch.

The Blue Black II would be the slimmest available DMB cell phone at 21.5 mm thick. It has a horizontal screen and voice recognition function.

The Blue Black II phone was named cell phone of the year in Britain. Business magazine Fortune introduced the model in a special edition.

LG Electronics, meanwhile, is focusing on sales of its not dissimilar Chocolate phones. The firm is selling some 2,500 of the phones a day four weeks after release. The domestic debut of SamsungĄ¯s Blue Black II is expected to present stiff competition.

LG Electronics designer Cha Yong-oh said consumers prefer black cell phones due to their sophisticated appearance.
