U.S. Denies Hearing of N. Korea Talks Boycott
Washington has denied a recent report that North Korea told it of its decision not to take part in the six-party nuclear talks. Japan's Sankei Shimbun reported Sunday that North Korea's UN delegation had notified the U.S. State Department that it will withdraw from the dialogue until its chief negotiator meets with the U.S. envoy, Christopher Hill.

State Department spokesman Adam Ereli said no North Korean official has contacted the U.S. government. He also said Washington is considering a South Korean proposal to hold an informal session of the six-party talks on the resort island of Jeju this month.
