Notebook computers are now available for less than W600,000 (US$600) amid cut-throat competition. China¡¯s second largest PC maker Hasee Group said Monday it will launch three laptop computers in the Korean market. The S263C model will cost W599,000, making it the cheapest laptop available here.
The cheapest model so far was the Dell Inspiron 1300 series, which were sold for W749,000. A source at Hasee distributor Gihai Mechatronics said the W599,000 price was equivalent to the domestic Chinese price plus VAT but without import duty.
All three models are equipped with Intel and AMD processors and with over 90 percent of genuine Samsung HDD, ODD, LCD displays and memory chips. Their operating efficiency and system stability match that of existing products, the company says.
