High heels made the 183 cm tall Wie stand out like a supermodel.¡±
¡°Wie started her greeting in fluent Japanese but in the middle she stumbled over her words, and with laughter from those gathered she took out a piece of paper and finished off her statement with, ¡®I will do my best, please root for me,¡¯¡± it said. ¡°With the appearance of Wie, at just over 16 years old the youngest woman pro in golf history, Kochi is already overcome with Wie fever five days ahead of the start of the Casio World Open.¡±
TBS, the main broadcaster of the tournament, arranged two cameras to exclusively cover Wie to make sure her every move is on show. Wie will stay in Japan for nine days until Sunday.
