Promoter's Trouble Scuppers Morricone Concert
Italian composer Ennio Morricone has canceled a concert in Korea just two days ahead of what would have been his first performance here.

Ticketlink, which handled advance sales, said Thursday the composer of classic film scores like ˇ°Missionˇ± and ˇ°The Good, the Bad and the Uglyˇ± canceled the concert scheduled to take place at the Seoul World Cup Stadium in Sangam-dong, Seoul on Saturday due to ˇ°changed circumstances of the promoter.ˇ± Executives of the promoter Cion Communication are being questioned by Seodaemun police on suspicion of forging private documents.

Morricone, whose list of masterpieces also includes ˇ°Cinema Paradisoˇ± and ˇ°Once Upon a Time in America,ˇ± was to have appeared with a 100-strong choir and his own Roma Sinfonietta orchestra as part of a world tour rounding off his career. But Cion never came up with the down payment. ˇ°The promoter tried to renegotiate the contract and attempted to postpone the concert, but apparently that did not work out, and they informed us quite late,ˇ± a Ticketlink spokesman said.
