Korean Wave Hits Household of Hong Kong Financial Secretary
Hong KongĄ¯s Financial Secretary Henry Tang (52) confessed of some family discord with his daughter because of the influence of the Korean Wave, which has hit Hong Kong hard.

In an interview with a local TV station in Hong Kong, Tang talked about his work and family, and said there is some discord between him, a classical music lover, and his daughter, a fan of Korean pop music. Tang considers classical music such as Mozart as recommendable music, but his 24-year-old daughter, an ardent fan of the Korean Wave, recommends the music of Korean singer BoA.

Tang, however, said he understands the generation gap, because he also kept his hair long and listened to the Beatles against his fatherĄ¯s wishes during his youth.

Since appointed as the Financial Secretary of Hong Kong in April 2003, Tang has been praised for successfully leading Hong KongĄ¯s economic recovery.
