Samsung SDI, the world's largest PDP maker has developed a fuel cell that can generate up to 100 watts of electricity for five hours with butane gas. Butane gas is normally used for portable cookers. With butane-based fuel cell, people are able to use their computers, watch television and DVD movies for longer hours.
Samsung SDI is the second company in the world to create the fuel cell using retail butane following Japan's Matsushita. But the Korean company marks the first to commercialize its fuel cell power for portable electronic devices. The butane-used fuel cell power will hit the market by 2007.
