The Bank of Korea will issue a commemorative coin to mark the APEC summit to be held Nov. 18~19 in Busan, it said Thursday.
The 99.9-percent silver coin with a nominal value of W20,000 (US$20) will carry an image of the Nurimaru APEC House, currently under construction on Busan's Dongmaek Island, on the front and the emblem of the summit on the back.
Up to 100,000 of the coins will be minted, and National Agricultural Cooperative Federation and Woori Bank offices will accept advance orders from August 17-26. The BOK said the coins would cost about W26,000 -- the face value plus secondary costs.
