It was confirmed Friday that some of the U.S. Air Force F-117 stealth fighter-bombers to be deployed in Korea on a rotational basis have already begun their deployment.

The F-117 will carry out exercises here for four to six months a year, a strategy that would boost the U.S. Forces in Korea¡¯s fighting strength./Yonhap

"Some of the stealth fighter-bombers scheduled for rotational deployment in Korea have already left New Mexico's Holloman Air Force Base to begin their deployment," U.S. Forces Korea (USFK) spokesperson Kim Young-kyu said. "Their deployment to Korea has not been completed, but it won't take long."

The USFK has decided to hold a "media day" to show the F-117s to the press as soon as all 15 have arrived.
