Korean Women Take 17 Minutes to Put on their Face
Korean women spend an average of 17 minutes getting their face ready for the day ahead, a survey shows.

In a survey of 1,500 adult women by Korea¡¯s largest cosmetic company AmorePacific with research firm TNS, 42 percent of respondents said it took them less than 10 minutes to put on their makeup, but on average, women spent some five minutes applying basic skincare and some 12-13 minutes on makeup. The company claimed a standard morning face job involved seven stages - toner, lotion, essence, cream, sun block, makeup base, and foundation, while at night it was done in four stages - toner, lotion, essence, and cream.

Women were most concerned about dry skin and flaws, with 10 percent of each complaining about them. Some 8 percent said that large pores bothered them most. When asked how they treat those skin problems, more than half said they tried natural treatments and 23 percent depended on cosmetics. As a ¡°natural¡± look became fashionable, a growing number of women preferred shiny lip gloss to dark lipstick, the company said.
