Pyongyang¡¯s Korea Central News Agency identified the skipper of an unidentified ship that defected to North Korea on Wednesday as South Korean Hwang Hong-ryon. The agency said Hwang sailed the vessel through ¡°a hail of bullets¡± when crossing the border in the East Sea at around 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday to defect to the Stalinist country. It added he was being interrogated. Two state-run radio stations, Korea Central Broadcasting and Pyongyang Broadcasting, ran similar reports.
