LG Electronics will show off its satellite and terrestrial DMB phone technology at MIPTV/MILIA 2005, the world¡¯s largest media festival, in Cannes, France from April 11 to 15.
LGE will unveil its terrestrial DMB phone LG-LT1000 and satellite DMB phone LG-SB100, as well as releasing its LG-SB120, a satellite DMB phone with a 360-degree rotating folder design. The LG-SB120 improves on usual LCD folders that rotate 120-180 degrees, and is equipped with a QVGA-level LCD.
Samsung Electronics, too, said it would unveil its third satellite DMB phone, the SCH-B200, and its ¡°cross-platform¡± terrestrial DMB phone T-DMB GPRS. Samsung hit the markets in January with its SCH-B100, the first satellite DMB phone in Korea, and recently completed development of its terrestrial DMB phone, the SPH-B1200.
The SCH-B200 allows users to watch DMB as well as take photos, play games and enjoy multimedia. It also adopts for the first time a sliding and rotating screen.
The T-DMB GPRS phone, the first to apply European-style 2.5 generation GPRS, is ready for use in Europe by combining Korea¡¯s terrestrial DMP and the European mobile communication format.
