Korea has been chosen as the Country of Honor for this year's MIP-TV, one of the biggest international trade fairs for films and TV programs.
Set to begin next Monday in Cannes, France, the annual event is expected to draw more than 10,000 media professionals from some 90 countries. As the Country of Honor, Korea plans to send a high-level delegation.
During the five-day event, Korea will showcase its high-tech Digital Multimedia Broadcasting services and its advanced digital contents in efforts to promote the country's media industry. A conference on "Hallyu," referring to a surging popularity of Korean pop culture, is also planned.
