Samsung Introduces File Viewer Phones
Samsung Electronics said on Monday it will release "file viewer" phones that can open documents or image files.

The SPH-V6500 and SCH-V650 models can store important files for use during business trips or for study on the move, the company said.

The systems can view MS Office files (including Word and Excel) and files in PDF, JPG, txt and other formats.

Their 16 million color LCD is the same used in high pixel camera phones, and a 1.3 megapixel camera is built in.

The phones come with an upgraded remote control feature allowing users to control televisions, VCRs, and karaoke, to air-condition, PCs, game consoles, and car TVs. Silver-nano technology keeps bacteria off the handset.

The SPH-V6500 features K-Ways, a type of global positioning system (GPS). The SCH-V650 will have the 2.0 version of WIPI, the Korean platform for wireless internet connection.

The price will be a little less than W600,000 (US$600).
