For men who have to wear formal suits, shirts and ties are vital elements to express their personal style. This coming spring, the keywords are color, color and color.

Stripes remain in trend for shirts, which are tailored to emphasize the lines of the body. Even a plain white shirt can look distinctive with stitching detail on the sleeves or the neckline. Padded or glossy fabric is also used to add a twist to an old favorite.

Then to the ties. The retro wide ˇ°Park Shin-yang tieˇ± the actor wore during a hit soap opera series last summer remains fashionable. Green or pink ties with streaks of white, purple or black will be the hot items this spring.

So-called ˇ°all-over-patternˇ± ties - textured by tiny patterns throughout - are the key to an elegant look. If you disdain all patterns, choose plain ties in eye-catching colors like pink, silver or white. For formal suits, 100 percent silk ties should be worn, but for casual suits silk-cotton ties are perfectly adequate.

ˇ±Use colorful shirts and ties to show your style,ˇ± Rogatis fashion director Lee Eun-mi exhorts customers.
