Liquor Preference Linked to Blood Type, Survey Suggests

Blood Type Has no Effect on Relationships: Study
Blood Type Linked to Choice of Credit Card
A survey by a spirit maker suggests a link between blood type and liquor preference. Scots whisky distillers J&B said Tuesday an online poll showed those with blood type A preferred wine, and those with blood type of B beer. The company said people with blood type O favored whisky and type AB soju. The highly unscientific survey was conducted among 6,153 adults over 20 years of age from January 18 to 25.

Some 29 percent of respondents with blood type A said their favorite alcohol was wine, slightly above the 25 percent who preferred beer. Soju came third with 21 percent and whisky last with 16. Of B-type respondents, 30 percent chose beer, 27 percent whisky, 21 percent soju, and 15 percent wine.

Some 33 percent of people with blood type O favored whisky followed by beer with 27 percent and soju and wine with 19 and 17 percent. Among the respondents with blood type AB, 31 percent picked soju, 24 percent beer, 22 whisky and 15 wine.

O-type individuals were thought to be the heaviest drinkers by 37 percent of respondents. Types B and A followed with 34 and 20, while AB-type people appear to enjoy an abstemious reputation with 9 percent.
