Korean teen phenomenon BoA's 14th album, "Merry-Chri" will be released simultaneously Wednesday in Korea and Japan.

BoA tried to express her thoughts and messages on Christmas through three songs in the album, which stands as an abbreviation for "Merry Christmas." The general ambiance of the album is wintry.

This is the 14th compilation for the teen sensation hailed as Korea's cultural ambassador, who stands at the forefront of the "Korean Wave" in Japan, and the third to be released in Korea after "Double" and "Rock with you."

The title song of the album, "Merry-Chri," is characterized by a sweet, mellifluous melody. It was composed by Japanese composer Kazuhiro Hara, who also wrote one of BoA's biggest hits, "Valenti."

The Korean lyrics were written by BoA herself, and the two versions of the music video - one in Korean, and the other in Japanese - portrays beautiful winter sceneries.

BoA herself speaks fluent Japanese, after being plucked out of obscurity by her record company before hitting her teens and trained by Japanese language teachers and dancers. She has previously twin-launched records in both countries in different languages, achieving the almost impossible feat of landing the top spot in both respective music charts.

ˇ°Mega Step" was composed under the theme of footsteps on snow, and is played at a medium tempo. BoA selected "Christmas song" as the last addition to her album, and added jazzy elements in the process of re-recording it.
