Samsung Unveils Credit-Card Sized Digital Camcorder
Samsung Electronics on Thursday released Miniket, a digital camcorder almost the size of a namecard that is capable of recording an hour of video.

Miniket is a super-mini mobile entertainment gadget representing the cutting edge of digital convergence. Its six main features offer a host of popular digital devices, including a digital camcorder, digital camera, MP3 player, voice recorder, PC camera and data storage. It has a built-in flash memory of one gigabyte that can record up to 68 minutes of video and 18 hours of voice-recorded data, while storing a library of 250 downloaded songs in MP3 form.

The model also features high quality MPEG4 video recording at 30 frames per second, while boasting an electrical image stabilizer to help cancel the shaky hand-held effect. In addition it has a high performance 10-times optical zoom and a 100-times digital zoom, making it possible to record videos of professional quality. The price tag will hover around the W800,000 mark.

Lat year, Samsung Electronics released the DuoCam series, which united the functions of digital camcorder and high-quality digital camera. The company will continue to devote itself to developing and securing core camcorder and memory technologies to increase its market share to 20 percent, thus becoming a leader in the global camcorder market.
