Japanese tourists flood the home in Chuncheon that was used as the TV home of Junsang, the character played by actor Bae Yong-jun in the drama "Winter Sonata."

¡°I would like to clean Chuncheon streets where Japanese tourists frequently visit.¡±
Murakami Shizu, the 35-year-old head of a Japanese fan club for Korean actor Bae Yong-jun, sent a letter to Chuncheon mayor Ryu Chong-su, saying she would like to clean Chuncheon's streets on Dec. 4. She plans to visit Korea from Dec. 3 with ten members of the fan club.
The Japanese woman added, ¡°I suppose a lot of Japanese people visited Chuncheon this year due to the popularity of Winter Sonata.¡± She also noted, ¡°I want to clean the city, which will be messed up by Japanese people by the end of the year.¡±
Chuncheon still receives about seven hundred female Japanese tourists per day. They became fans of Bae Yong-joon by watching the TV drama ¡°Winter Sonata,¡± a Korean program that is very popular in Japan.
Ham Ji-yeon of Chuncheon City Hall said, ¡° The city rented the house in Soyangno 2-ga
where Junsang (the character played by Bae Yong-jun) of Winter Sonata lived. On June 23, a guest book was placed there to get signature from Japanese tourists, and as of Monday, 62,000 signatures had been collected."
