Six Russian bears have been released into Mount Chiri in the southwestern part of the country, according to Seoul's Environment Ministry.
Under the wildlife restoration project to save wild black bears in Korea six Asiatic bears from a Russian reserve for orphaned bear cubs were airlifted to South Korea earlier this month. Korea plans to import 50 more bears from Russia by 2008.
