North Korea has made another strong statement about its nuclear capability. At the United Nations on Monday, a North Korean minister said his country had made arms from reprocessed nuclear fuel rods.
Though it cannot be confirmed, the comment by Vice Foreign Minister Choe Su-hon was one of the more explicit statements from the communist country.
In the past, North Korea has referred to what it describes as its nuclear deterrent, without using the word weapons. Choe's statement comes amid troubled international efforts to get North Korea back to the negotiating table as well as concerns that Pyeongyang might be planning to test-fire a missile.
