Actress Hwang Soo-jung raised a law suit against NHN. Corp., the company that runs the portal site ˇ°Naverˇ±(www.naver.com), on Friday. Hwang insisted, ˇ°The site violated my honor by leaving pictures of me in a prison uniform and parody cartoons of me taking drugs.ˇ± She is sueing the firm for W100 million.
The actress was once arrested for taking drugs.
Park Jae-youn, Hwang's lawyer for the case, said Miss Hwang had asked countless times that photographs with her in prison attire be erased, along with other pictures featuring her with her hands tied with a rope and parody pictures with her injecting methamphetamines. NHN left the material up, however, for everyone to see, damaging Hwang's honor, her lawyer explained.
Hwang already brought a civil suit against the nation and the prison officer who circulated the prison photographs. Recently, the Supreme Court announced that the actress should receive W2.5 million in damages.
