Korean actress Lee Young-ae, the star of the hit TV series' Dae Jang Geum,' was named a United Nations Children's Fund special representative in Art. In that role, Lee will help promote UNICEF activities aimed at securing children the right to a quality education, good health care and basic protection.
Lee is expected to participate in trips to developing countries and promote major UNICEF charity events and campaigns. Fellow Koreans actor Ahn Sung-ki and fashion designer Andre Kim also served as special representatives before becoming UNICEF Goodwill ambassadors.
