Police have arrested likely suspects behind the murder and dismemberment of a Masan taxi driver. On August 1, the dismembered body of a man was found near a hiking path on a mountain in Sanho-dong, Masan, South Gyeongsang Province.
On Wednesday, police from Dongbu Station in Masan arrested the 55-year-old wife and 26-year-old daughter of 53-year-old Mr. Song, the victim of the ghastly crime. The police seized the weapons and tools that were apparently used to kill and dismember Song as evidence.
According to police, at around at 8 p.m. on July 29, the two suspects murdered Song, who came home drunk and behaved badly. They then chopped up his dead body and abandoned it near a mountain path in Sanho-dong and hill in Gusan-myeon.
Based on their statements, the police officers found Mr. SongĄ¯s head on the hill in Gusan-myeon on Wednesday morning and are still in the process of searching for some parts of the corpse that have yet to be found.
The police said that the two suspects confessed their guilt by saying, "Mr. Song was violent towards his family members when he was drunk. On that day, he was also drunk and behaved badly towards his daughter by threatening her with a deadly weapon, so we accidentally killed him."
After murdering Song, they moved the corpse to the bathroom, removed the fingerprints from both his hands with a knife and chopped him into 10 parts for the perfect crime. Following the crime, they calmly reported Song's disappearance to police on August 3.
