Fixed and Mobile Lines All in One Phone
The One-phone
The Korean government has allowed a new service that will allow customers to use both fixed-line and mobile phones with one device.

The Korea Information Strategy Development Institute (KISDI) allowed KT to start the service on Wednesday under the condition that other telecommunication companies can also come in for a share of the service and the company would not be able to use the information of the telephone subscribers for commercial use.

The One-phone enables customers to use the phone like a fixed-line telephone at home and like a mobile phone outside of the home using wireless networks. The One-phone service enables subscribers to save telephone fees as subscribers can send or receive calls through a traditional fixed-line where access points are established.

Fixed-line telephone fees are W39 per 3 minutes while mobile phone fees are W18 per 10 seconds; this means subscribers only have to pay 1/9 of the original fees when they use the phone within 100m from the AP equipment.
