The South Korean government will send all the reconstruction materials and school equipment that North Korea requested during the intra-Korean meeting on disaster relief held Tuesday.
The government will obtain W32 billion from relief donations raised by civilians and the official North and South Korea Cooperation Funds.
The government has sought opinions from the ruling Uri Party and other related ministries and will decide on the aid during a policy coordination meeting, presided by Acting President Goh Kun, to be held on April 29.

The government has estimated that the cost of the aid would range from W18 billion (when flour is sent for food) to W32 billion (when rice is provided) in order to send iron roof materials, cement, bulldozers, oil, steel, desks, chairs, blackboards, TV sets and food.
The government decided to designate the South Korean Red Cross as the representative organization to convey the relief funds raised here by civilians to the North; to do this, it will establish a joint committee in which the government, the South Korean Red Cross and civic organizations will participate.
The Hankwangho, a ship owned by Hanjin Maritime, left Incheon today for Nampo to transport relief goods. The ship was loaded with emergency relief goods and medical supplies worth US$1 million, which the government promised to send to the North through the South Korean Red Cross, plus 88 kinds of medical goods worth W1.7 billion, which domestic pharmaceutical companies donated to the Red Cross.
ˇ°The Aid Headquarters for Our Ryongchon Compatriotsˇ±, a private relief organization comprised of 42 civic organizations, sent daily necessities and medical supplies worth W10 billion aboard the regular international passenger ship ˇ°Oriental Pearlˇ± to the North. The relief goods arrive in the North Korean port city of Nampo and the Chinese city Dandong on Thursday; they will then be moved to the accident site Friday.
