South and North Korean representatives met at a hotel in Gaeseong on Tuesday to discuss the particulars on the relief goods and plans for transporting aid to Ryongchon. At the conference, South Korea suggested that relief goods worth US$1 million be sent overland and talked about dispatching a South Korean medical team to Ryongchon.

South Korea reportedly told North Korea that it would send technicians and engineers along with the equipment needed in reconstruction. The South Korean government said an estimated W3 billion would be used to aid North Korea, and announced that the total would come from the ¡°South-North Korean Cooperation Funds¡± budget. Seoul decided to send US$1 million in relief goods and donate US$200,000 through the World Health Organization (WHO).
Before leaving for the Gaeseong conference to discuss Ryongchon aid issues with North Korea, Korean representatives answer questions from the press on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, through the Dandong office of Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency, North Korea sent a request Tuesday to the Christian Council of Korea (CCK) asking for 64 difference kinds of medical supplies such as hemostatics, pain-killers and ointments to treat inflammations from burns and cuts. CCK reportedly agreed to send the medical supplies directly to the North Korean Christian Federation; they are to be delivered on April 30.

The South Korean government and the Uri Party are to host a policy meeting on Wednesday at the National Assembly guestroom with five ministers of the Ministry of Unification, Trade and Commerce, Health and Welfare, Planning and Budget, Government Administration and Home Affairs, and Uri¡¯s policy committee chairman Chung Sye-kyun to discuss aid plans for Ryongchon.
